La miocarditis es un proceso inflamatorio que afecta al músculo cardiaco. Los síntomas de presentación son poco específicos y su diagnóstico, difícil. El realce de contraste valorado con cardiorresonancia magnética (CRM) es un hallazgo frecuente en la miocarditis que ha demostrado ser de gran utilidad en su diagnóstico y en el seguimiento. El estudio de miocardiopatías es una indicación tradicional de la CRM, pues permite realizar estudios morfológicos y funcionales con mayor resolución especial que el ecocardiograma. Además, las últimas secuencias desarrolladas con contraste ayudan a diferenciar su etiología.
